Project Overview

The Chun’an Cycling Venue of the Hangzhou Asian Games is located on the shores of Qiandao Lake. The venue consists of an indoor velodrome, outdoor lakeside cycling routes, a ceremonial plaza, multiple entrance and functional zones, dedicated athlete passages, media working areas, and supporting logistics facilities. It hosted official Asian Games track cycling competitions and outdoor road cycling events. The venue includes spectator stands, competition tracks, athlete rest areas, media zones, VIP passages, and outdoor lakeside park areas. During events, the venue accommodates a wide variety of personnel and complex traffic flows, requiring exceptionally high standards for zoned event broadcasting, sound quality, outdoor weather resistance, and emergency communication dispatching.

The project deployed a complete FLB IP Network Public Address System, precisely addressing the operational requirements of professional sports venues with multiple zones and diverse application scenarios:

1. Comprehensive Zone Management with Independent Control: Based on the IP digital architecture, the venue is divided into independent broadcast zones according to its operational layout, including the indoor track area, spectator stands, athlete entrances, media work areas, VIP zones, outdoor lakeside routes, and logistics passages, all of which can broadcast independently. Event announcements can be delivered exclusively to the spectator stands, while athlete rest areas and media offices remain muted, ensuring that different zones operate without interference.

2. High-Definition Sound Reinforcement for Indoor Competition Areas: Designed to address the acoustic characteristics of large indoor dome structures, the system is equipped with professional amplifiers and directional venue loudspeakers to optimize sound field performance. Referee commands, event countdowns, and result announcements are delivered with outstanding clarity and minimal echo, ensuring that athletes, officials, and spectators throughout the venue can accurately receive all event-related audio instructions.

3. Outdoor Lakeside Audio System Adapted to the Humid Environment of Qiandao Lake: Waterproof column speakers are installed along the outdoor cycling routes around the lake. Designed with moisture-resistant and rainproof protection, the system is well suited to the foggy and high-humidity conditions of the lakeside environment. Cycling guidance and safety announcements can be broadcast along outdoor warm-up routes and lakeside pathways, ensuring reliable all-weather operation.

4. Multi-Mode Broadcasting for Events and Daily Operations: The system supports scheduled broadcasts based on preset event workflows, including athlete check-in notifications, event start reminders, and result announcements. It also enables live broadcasts by on-site hosts for opening ceremonies, award presentations, and other event activities. During non-event periods, background music and visitor information can be automatically played throughout the venue, meeting the needs of both sporting events and public operation.

5. Tiered Emergency Response Integration for Large-Scale Event Safety: The system is integrated with the fire alarm system and can activate emergency broadcasts by zone, including spectator areas, athlete zones, and outdoor routes. In emergency situations, evacuation guidance can be broadcast to specific areas, helping maintain event order while ensuring personnel safety. All equipment is centrally managed through standardized equipment racks, while operation and maintenance can be remotely controlled from the central control room, meeting the high-intensity operational requirements of large-scale sporting events.

The complete IP Public Address System provides full coverage for both the indoor venue and the outdoor lakeside areas surrounding Qiandao Lake, successfully supporting all cycling events of the Asian Games. During the competitions, zoned broadcasting was delivered accurately and efficiently, with clear and echo-free audio throughout the venue and reliable outdoor coverage around the lake. Independent audio zoning for VIP, media, and athlete areas ensured both professional event operations and an enhanced user experience. After the Games, the system can be flexibly switched to support public fitness activities and cultural tourism operations, making it suitable for future sports, cultural events, and recreational cycling activities. Centralized management through a standardized equipment room reduces long-term maintenance complexity, while moisture-resistant and durable hardware is well suited to the lakeside environment. By integrating professional event support, public fitness operations, and fire safety protection into a single platform, the system contributes to the long-term intelligent operation of the Asian Games venue.

FLB has extensive experience in public address system construction for sports venues and major sporting events such as the Asian Games, providing solutions that fully meet the demanding requirements of professional competition venues, including multi-zone management, indoor acoustic optimization, outdoor weather resistance in waterside environments, and tiered emergency broadcasting. Supported by a complete and reliable IP Public Address System, FLB delivers high-standard audio performance for professional sporting events while also supporting post-event cultural, tourism, and daily venue operations. The solution provides large-scale sports venues with a reliable, easy-to-manage, and competition-ready broadcasting platform, contributing to the development of intelligent audio infrastructure for modern sports facilities.
